Beedon is a small rural community historically connected with farming and agriculture as well as being know for bee-keeping. Nestling into the beautiful Donwland countryside, the village situated to the North of Newbury is easily accessible for the fast A34 dual carriageway which links the South coast with Oxford and the Midlands. The ancient Parish Church of St Nicholas is located near Beedon Manor just to the North of the village.
The Langley Hall Inn serves home-cooked food using fresh produce with daily changing "favourites" from the blackboards. The village is in the catchment area for the Downs Secondary School in Compton which has built up an enviable reputation for academic standards in recent years and now boasts its own VI form and excellent Ofsted ratings.
